“I hear we need to have another discussion about Billy’s behavior,” he says, plopping down on a chair. “You know, son, sometimes you’re more of a handful than the criminals I put in jail. Go to your room until Mom and I figure out our plan for punishment.”

“Gladly!” I say with a big smile.

My parents give each other confused looks as I rush into my room.

Usually I put up a fight, but not this time.

This time, I have a plan too!

Man with a Plan

Once I am alone in my room, I chuck my schoolbag onto the bed. Then I walk over to my bookshelves. Looking at them closely, I realize that I have a lot of books.

Grandma’s right. It’s easy to take things for granted if they are always around you. Soon you start to forget they are there. It’s been a while since I read some of these. Plus, a few of them are kinda babyish. I think it’s time to let them go and find a new home.

That’s my plan.

I’m going to collect old and used books and donate them to people who aren’t as lucky to have a collection of their own.
